This short lesson starter for Year 1 science pupils gives a clear example of how light is needed to see, with a man taking his dog for a walk in the woods. Dick puts his dog Woody on his lead, but lets Woody off his lead when they're in the woods. Soon it's quite dark and Dick can't see Woody anywhere.
