This resource pack, aimed at Key Stage One, introduces Dan, who works as a plant scientist discovering plants in different habitats, observing and recording his findings. A short video outlines his work and shows plants growing in different habitats and the adaptations they show depending on where they are found. A postcard from Dan sets up a challenge for children to go out and discover plants and seeds in the local area and see how they grow. Registration required, resources free.

Growing Seeds Video
Three children collect parsnip seeds from a plant grown last year on their allotment. They prepare the soil, plant and water them, explaining why this is important. They dig up a parsnip and prepare it for eating. Then they visit an enormous farm in Norfolk where they see radishes grown, harvested and prepared while the farmer explains the processes involved.
